Musical homework

 

         THURSDAY 8/4/22 6:19PM-- started doing my band "homework"... Hoping to be ready by Sunday's practice. Made a legible copy (by hand and then laptop) of the songs and their corresponding NOTES. It didn't take too long, but I'm glad I'm finished.
10:22PM-just took the Trazodone...gonna give it until 11PM and then ready or not I'M going to bed. I don't know why, but I'm almost happy the cleaners won't be back for two weeks. This happens every time they come to clean. Tomorrow is Muzzy's play date. I should be back home by eight thirty, after I go to Safeway and get bologna.
      FRIDAY 8/5/22 8:46AM--Dianne is going to the Germantown flea market by herself. She's OK with that. I've got a bunch of songs to listen to, about 14 of them.
12:10PM--I sorta forgot there will be other musical acts at next week's gig besides us...the most well known and probably the tightest will be the Marsh Brothers. Luckily we play first.
5:23PM-I've started doing my Mink Hollow Boys homework--yes, that's the name of  the Band at this point. *I* dunno why. It strikes ME as weird.
7:20PM--When Dianne leaves for the flea market, I head for the basement to try to carve out a practice area. And I might bring my musical stuff upstairs before Dianne and I go out Saturday evening so I won't have to do it first thing in the morning Sunday. Practice starts at 10:30AM, it takes a few minutes to get to Tom's house, so I'll likely leave home at 9:30. I don't want to have anything to do except load the car.
          If I had MY way, she would be going to the John Mulaney performance with a friend other than me. I expect us to be back home by Midnight. I'd like to be back by 10:30.
SATURDAY 8/6/22 10:07AM--just got done working with the "Gizmo"...gonna try out Memory Mode at tomorrow's practice. Kinda nervous about it.
10:37AM--I'll be using a patch to harmonize the hook of SUMMER BREEZE and a patch octave...something, I dunno what just yet. BLUE BAYOU? Nah...December '63? maybe. REALLY GOT A HOLD ON ME? Maybe. Really it all depends on what "lead guitarist" Elle does.
SUNDAY 8/7/22 8:36AM--all my equipment is upstairs...I very nearly fell down in the basement, but I didn't; it's a minor miracle. But I'll take what I can get. I hope to be back by 2:30
2:40PM--got home from practice about 10 minutes ago...had Chicken McNuggets for Lunch...probably gonna have Lunch for Dinner.
               4:41PM-- I have LOTSA little teeny tiny bits I have to worry about...I think I can go thru the set list to figure out which songs I need to work on.
         I've had time to think about it and I don't think I wanna be in a band with Elle and Tom permanently. Not that either of them have even asked me...
6:22PM--I play almost completely by ear and I'm IMO a very good improviser. Not to mention my rhythm guitar style, even though I learned it from Bob Weir...Elle and Tom seem to be the exact opposite. I find that quite frustrating. Such is Life.
7:11PM--Something has made Dianne more than a little grouchy. At least that's the way she behaves with me; and I'm pretty sure she doesn't treat anyone else that way. I don't get it.
9:14PM--there's no way I'm gonna make it to Midnight, and I probably won't make it to 11PM either. In fact, making it to 10PM will be a minor miracle.
9:52PM--it looks like I WILL make it to 10PM...but I really don't think I'll make it to 11PM. Planning on taking the trazodone at the usual time--10:30 or so, and then I'm going to bed.
