The re-birth continues
WEDNESDAY 5/25/22 10:51AM-as far as *I* know, there's nothing special going on. Bob says J&E will be back the second week of June. He also said Brian from the OTWC is bugging him to come and play there. I hope that's true, but I don't know that it is.
6:34PM--a drummer I know is part of the back-up band at the "open jam" that hopefully I'm going to tomorrow. The location is on East Gude Drive, apparently near what I call the Big Doggie Place. It's a second hand store. The Little Doggie Place (also a thrift shop) is off of Shady Grove Road near a Burger King.
I WAS planning on putting new strings on Butterscotch, but I don't have any new sets. I thought I d49id. At any rate, I may have had a problem with Butterscotch II, but for now, the problem has disappeared. And the strings still feel relatively new IMO. So that's that.
7:20PM--I'll cross my fingers, and take BII with me tomorrow. I KNOW it's called a "jam", but *I* hope it's an open mic. In either case, there are a couple of songs I know well enough to sing, if I have to.
THURSDAY 5/26/22 8:25AM--leaving for my Doctor's appointment in about 20 minutes. It shouldn't take more than five minutes to drive across the street. Then I'll come home and have a somewhat late breakfast. And I'll likely have a late Lunch, and Dinner too. Then I hope to go to a "jam" on Gude Drive. If it's actually an open mic, I'll probably stay. Otherwise, I won't.
9:30AM--well, that was as easy as I thought it would be. I don't think I have anything else to do this morning. And that's OK with me.
9:44AM—the cleaners are allegedly coming today. That sucks IMO. Between 11:30 and 12:30.
1:26PM-Well, the cleaners came at about 12:30 I think and now it’s an hour later and Dianne and I have been to some Little bakery place to have a lunch for her and a doughnut kind of thing for me.
After we leave the doggie place, we’re going to be going home. That suits me just fine; I’m going back out later today. I’m going to what is either a jam or an open mic. I think it was referred to both in separate Facebook posts. There is a house band there,
4:49PM--Other than my guitar playing, I'm about as ready as I'm gonna be.
7:19PM-the streak is broken-I fell down at the o.m./jam. With about a dozen witnesses. Not so much falling down as having LOTSA trouble getting back up again.
8:38PM-the evening got better thank you Universe.
9:48PM-And now we’re at the end… All we have to do is pack up our gear, and load it up and then we’ll be on our way.
10:54PM--in spite of my "rubber legs" Incident, I'm glad I went. I didn't embarrass myself too much Musically, just in almost every other way possible.
11;29PM--I'm still getting used to BII's...something--neck length, fret spacing, something. My playing was a bit better than it has been, but I'm still a bit rusty. My singing wasn't too bad either IMO. I found that new set of strings I couldn't find earlier. I think that mostly I have to get used to Butterscotch II.
