Not that far away

 

THURSDAY 4/7/22 6:05PM-so I’ve made it to Umberto‘s… It’s closer in reality than it looks to be on a map. Lou should be along in about a half an hour. I hope I don’t jinx it, but if Lou and I do our usual stuff we’re going to own the place musically, but on the other hand, I  don’t know who else is going to be here.
         7:00PM-Lou is here but we’re not sitting together through some kind of accident. He brought his next-door neighbor. I stayed in my booth and they sat at the table.
      It’s really too soon to know for sure, but I don’t think I’m going to regret coming here. The pizza was pretty good, if exceptionally thin.
       I keep forgetting that some, if not most, people aren’t nearly as friendly as I am. So after an initial burst of socializing, I’m sitting in my booth by myself.
     I’m gonna use the same route to get home that I used to get here; of course, it’ll be a lot darker then.It may even be dryer. I don’t know for sure what the weathers going to be like, but I’m hoping for drier weather.
          After I take Muzzy to the puppy playground, I’m going to take the laptop to Best Buy and let the Geek Squad have it for a day or so, hopefully no longer than that.
8:19PM Lou we’re pretty damn good IMO. The person who books the Music offered Lou and I GIGS here!!! I wish I could lessen Lou’s reluctance to play out.
9PM-I will come here more often, but probably not on a Bippy’s night and likely not without Lou.      11:33PM--Just got home from Umberto's open mic...What I lacked as a guitarist, I more than made up for as a vocalist. At some point, we unplugged everything. That's when I stopped really hearing my acoustic. But. I harmonized with RAGS, whether they liked it or not. Frankly, my harmonies were so good, there's almost no way they could NOT like 'em.
FRIDAY 12:12AM-I was standing for the Lou&Scott set, but I sat for the Unplugged segment. My legs are super tired, but I haven't yet fallen down.
12:30AM--I'm gonna watch one episode of ST-TOS then go to bed. I hope to be at Best Buy by Ten o'clock.
9:00AM--I went to bed at about Midnight, having taken TWO Trazodones. I didn't fall asleep til about 3AM. And THAT was with one more Trazodone...
5:07PM--I broght my laptop to BB and as expected, it acted perfectly normal. Which made me very VERY VERY angry. I'm grateful that I can still do THIS.
5:18PM--getting excited about seeing ITN tonight...I know the Legion is not so far away, but I DO wish  it was closer.

Musical homework

            THURSDAY 8/4/22 6:19PM-- started doing my band "homework"... Hoping to be ready by Sunday's practice. Made a legible copy (by hand and then laptop) of the songs and their corresponding NOTES. It didn't take too long, but I'm glad I'm finished. 10:22PM-just took the Trazodone...gonna give it until 11PM and then ready or not I'M going to bed. I don't know why, but I'm almost happy the cleaners won't be back for two weeks. This happens every time they come to clean. Tomorrow is Muzzy's play date. I should be back home by eight thirty, after I go to Safeway and get bologna.       FRIDAY 8/5/22 8:46AM--Dianne is going to the Germantown flea market by herself. She's OK with that. Tuesday's just as bad

            TUESDAY 5/17/22 11:16AM-- someone is coming here to give me some sort of check-up. I don't think they represent UHC, but I might be wrong about that. Whoever it is, they're supposed to be here between Noon and 4PM. The sooner they get here, the sooner they'll be gone.  11:45AM--I'm nervous about the upcoming exam. As if I didn't already have enough to worry about, right? I've got bills I think need to be paid; I wanna be alone when I do it, and unless Dianne goes upstairs to work, I won't be. 1:41PM--whoever's coming to examine me should be here shortly...how long will the exam take? I have no idea, but I hope to be trying for a nap before three o'clock. 2:56PM--the exam is over, the young woman just left...I guess I'm in worse shape than I thought. I MIGHT have a mini pizza for dinner. 3:35PM--or not...the last thing I wanna do is ask Dianne to help me cook anything ...so tonight I'll have the Fettucine Alfredo, THAT I know how ...

dumber as ya get older

        MONDAY 5/23/22 8:47AM-It took me awhile, but I (alone) checked my blood sugar. it was 116. I was ok once I found the instruction booklet. I made a really good looking omelet. Today is the last day it's safe to use the eggs.         Dianne is at her doctor's appointment, I think. I'm working on the dishes,  after which...well, I dunno what I'll be doing. IF I can find the energy, I'll go to Hank's--IF I get the chance to warm up, more than a little that is. 5:10PM--the strings on Butterscotch absolutely need to be changed...well, maybe next week I'll bring it to Hank's. I'm still planning on going, but I'm not taking anything but some guitar picks. SueEl still isn't going tonight as far as I know. There might be a Fender amp and Tele already there--I can use that stuff if I get the chance to play. 7:26PM-the amp is here, the Tele is not-as far as I can see. 7:42PM-I guess I’ll be a spectator…such is Life.
