a big anti-climax

 


         TUESDAY 2/1/22 6:53PM--My finding the funeral home was hard enough that I almost started to come back home. Ultimately, of course, I found it so I stayed; Jimmie Gobrecht was there. as was Larry Mueller. Was it worth the trip? Barely, by the slimmest of margins...I've changed my Mind about going to the funeral; I can't go thru that journey to wherever I was again--and that was USING the GPS... I guess I won't be seeing Roy...oh well...Roy and Larry have been on Facebook, but not very often...
            9:39PM-- In other News, the Rhythm Bandits have officially announced that they are looking for a KEYBOARD player. I guess that's that...I feel a sense of relief, actually. My chops have gone downhill, in part due to inactivity, and in part due to the aging process. We're talking my left hand BTW, although the rest of me isn't in such great shape either.
    Like most any or every evening, I suddenly have a second wind--dammit, I wanted to go to bed at 10PM. When I first got home (somewhere around 6PM) I was more than ready to drop. But not now.
       WEDNESDAY 2/2/22 9:30AM--I actually got about seven uninterrupted hours of sleep; with the help of pharmaceuticles, but still...
    Somebody supplied me with the wrong lancets for my blood sugar monitor; I'm sure neither CVS nor Dr. Gold both are not gonna take responsibility for the foul-up.
       Ray starts his current tour today; Johnny Vengrouskie will be the lead guitarist for most of his gigs. I've finally got a car that will get me to ANY of his gigs, and he's only using me for one of them, I think. The gigs in question are on Friday 2/18 at Killarney House @7PM and Thursday 2/17 at Pirates Cove@ 6PM.
THURSDAY 2/3/22 6:42PM--I didn't work on the "to do" list that Dianne came up with for ME, but I spontaneously came up with a "to do" list involving my cars...The Corolla is as clean as it's gonna get. And I think I just donated it to Karz 4 Kidz...
8:35PM--my virtual appointment with Habibatu is now scheduled to begin at 9:15AM TOMORROW (Friday) and should be over before Ten...after that? who knows? I don't...
7:19PM--well again I've lost the entry I just wrote; and I'm not EVEN gonna try to rewrite it. That's the kind of day it's been.

Musical homework

            THURSDAY 8/4/22 6:19PM-- started doing my band "homework"... Hoping to be ready by Sunday's practice. Made a legible copy (by hand and then laptop) of the songs and their corresponding NOTES. It didn't take too long, but I'm glad I'm finished. 10:22PM-just took the Trazodone...gonna give it until 11PM and then ready or not I'M going to bed. I don't know why, but I'm almost happy the cleaners won't be back for two weeks. This happens every time they come to clean. Tomorrow is Muzzy's play date. I should be back home by eight thirty, after I go to Safeway and get bologna.       FRIDAY 8/5/22 8:46AM--Dianne is going to the Germantown flea market by herself. She's OK with that. Tuesday's just as bad

            TUESDAY 5/17/22 11:16AM-- someone is coming here to give me some sort of check-up. I don't think they represent UHC, but I might be wrong about that. Whoever it is, they're supposed to be here between Noon and 4PM. The sooner they get here, the sooner they'll be gone.  11:45AM--I'm nervous about the upcoming exam. As if I didn't already have enough to worry about, right? I've got bills I think need to be paid; I wanna be alone when I do it, and unless Dianne goes upstairs to work, I won't be. 1:41PM--whoever's coming to examine me should be here shortly...how long will the exam take? I have no idea, but I hope to be trying for a nap before three o'clock. 2:56PM--the exam is over, the young woman just left...I guess I'm in worse shape than I thought. I MIGHT have a mini pizza for dinner. 3:35PM--or not...the last thing I wanna do is ask Dianne to help me cook anything ...so tonight I'll have the Fettucine Alfredo, THAT I know how ...

dumber as ya get older

        MONDAY 5/23/22 8:47AM-It took me awhile, but I (alone) checked my blood sugar. it was 116. I was ok once I found the instruction booklet. I made a really good looking omelet. Today is the last day it's safe to use the eggs.         Dianne is at her doctor's appointment, I think. I'm working on the dishes,  after which...well, I dunno what I'll be doing. IF I can find the energy, I'll go to Hank's--IF I get the chance to warm up, more than a little that is. 5:10PM--the strings on Butterscotch absolutely need to be changed...well, maybe next week I'll bring it to Hank's. I'm still planning on going, but I'm not taking anything but some guitar picks. SueEl still isn't going tonight as far as I know. There might be a Fender amp and Tele already there--I can use that stuff if I get the chance to play. 7:26PM-the amp is here, the Tele is not-as far as I can see. 7:42PM-I guess I’ll be a spectator…such is Life.
