hope to make a good impression

SATURDAY 12/11/21 12:44PM-- I hope to be in bed by about two o'clock and out by four-thirty...hoping to arrive at Lahinch by six-thirty or so...and back home around Midnight...
2PM--Dianne is off to have her fun; no idea when she'll be back...I hope to be in bed by 2:35 or so...and out the door 'round 6PM, more or less...
4:45PM--ahead of schedule like almost always...planning on leaving for Wendy's at about six...and hopefully leaving Wendy's before Seven...
7 PM – I have yet to come here without getting lost finding the place… And by that I mean when I’m in the shopping center where the place is located; I couldn’t quite get the seat that I wanted but I’m sitting next to it…the band’s set-up is going badly IMO…I would be surprised if they’re invited back…with or without me….  I made a suggestion to Richard about where to aim the speakers; not sure if he heard me…but shortly thereafter, the guy I would theoretically be replacing got on stage and aimed the speakers in the manner I suggested in the first place…
7:16PM-I think they’ve got the sound problems taken care of… I might record some stuff, or take some pictures or a video or something-or not…
7:31PM-chatted with the other guitar player, The one I already sort of know… he’s sort of implied that a few of the possible replacements for their current rhythm guitarist/harmonica player are going to be here tonight… judging from the amount of microphones on stage (two) there’s not a lot of harmonies going on-we’ll see…7:42PM— quite a few tables seem to be reserved and that implies that Lahinch is expecting a full house… I think the only way I could be more nervous would be if I was auditioning tonight…
7:49 PM-I’m suddenly not very optimistic there are nearly a dozen guys coming out here tonight; will have to be prepared for failure… it’s up to the universe… in any case we won’t know until sometime in January…8:23PM-the bass player is singing HARD TO HANDLE…and he does some harmonies…
8:38PM-they could use some fine tuning…but every band I’ve ever been in needed at least a tiny bit
9:15PM-second set starting now…in spite of the flaws I still  wanna be in the band…I think they have another set…
9:55PM-I think if I got in the band, it would be hard to even discuss the boo-boos, much less fix ‘em…someone asked me if I was gonna sit in…maybe because it DIDN’T happen, I kinda wanna…
10:44PM-I hope neither Richard nor Brian think I’m trying to butter them up…The Bass player is singing SEDATED…and BLITZKRIEG BOP…in theory they have about eight minutes left…I guess I’ll leave the guys alone when they finish…they’re still rocking…I’m hanging in there…
SUNDAY 12/12/21 12:14AM--just got home from Lahinch...I really wanna be in that band...they all know it, including the guy I'd would be replacing...Sally gave me some earplugs (unopened) and I used them...I wanna believe it helped...*I* think the bass was too loud...the audience seemed to love 'em-ultimately that's all that matters.....
I was worried about my health issues scaring the band enough that they wouldn't consider me...the Bass player has a similiar problem with regards to standing too long...
12:42AM--I think I should set up my practice space in the basement soon...maybe Monday...if I can get my chops up to my pre-covid level, I think I'll get the gig...
1:12AM--it was hard enough (nearly impossible) to NOT fantasize about being in the band BEFORE I saw them...it's gonna be harder now that I have...
