cautiously optimistc #2

 

             SATURDAY 12/4/21 1:22PM--after having some trouble connecting with Bandit Richard, I now have setlists from two different gigs...there's almost nothing to do but wait until sometime in January (practically a whole month) to audition for the Bandits...I'm hoping to go see 'em next Saturday at Lahinch...dunno if I should tell 'em I'm coming or not...let's see if they suggest it...
3PM--I have thirty minutes before we leave for Riderwood...that's thirty minutes to think about what it would be like to be a member of The Rhythm Bandits...I don't know for sure who their drummer or Bass player is...I sent Jeff a message regarding my possible audition, telling him he DIDN'T have to put in the good word for me if he didn't wanna...but if he's NOT the Bass player, I wasted my time sending the e-mail in the first place...
      Jeff has been the Bassist, like Eric from the Crimestoppers has been their drummer and Stoney has been (if only briefly) their keyboard player...and there apparently have been various folks sitting in--like Kennedy from the Crimestoppers...and Mike Lofgrin (Nils' brother!) on guitar...I think Mike Queen played drums for them for awhile...
6:30PM-went to dinner at Riderwood with Dianne‘s parents… And now we’re in Target, which is a good thing because I need new socks – and now I'll get them…Twenty pair for $20… so for a little while, I’ve had my mind on something other than the Rhythm Bandits… what Dianne said is true, that there’s nothing to do when we get home… But doing nothing was my first choice;
6:47PM-perhaps telling Dianne that she was free to take her time was a BAD idea…
7:42PM--back home, finally...I might not have to take any green capsules--but I probably will to be sure...I've got to at least TRY not to spend the week leading up to the Bandits' gig at Lahinch obsessing over being in the band...in fact I should consider the possibilty that someone else will get the gig...
 8:20PM--  and not to mention there is some more important stuff I MUST focus on, having to do with medical insurance and/or Medicare...gonna try to get that done on Monday...
10:44PM--Dianne just went to bed...gonna watch some TV and posssibly be in bed by Midnight...

Musical homework

            THURSDAY 8/4/22 6:19PM-- started doing my band "homework"... Hoping to be ready by Sunday's practice. Made a legible copy (by hand and then laptop) of the songs and their corresponding NOTES. It didn't take too long, but I'm glad I'm finished. 10:22PM-just took the Trazodone...gonna give it until 11PM and then ready or not I'M going to bed. I don't know why, but I'm almost happy the cleaners won't be back for two weeks. This happens every time they come to clean. Tomorrow is Muzzy's play date. I should be back home by eight thirty, after I go to Safeway and get bologna.       FRIDAY 8/5/22 8:46AM--Dianne is going to the Germantown flea market by herself. She's OK with that. I've got a bunch of songs to listen to, about 14 of them. 12:10PM--I sorta forgot there will be other musical acts at next week's gig besides us...the most well known and probably the tightest will be the Marsh Brothers. Tuesday's just as bad

            TUESDAY 5/17/22 11:16AM-- someone is coming here to give me some sort of check-up. I don't think they represent UHC, but I might be wrong about that. Whoever it is, they're supposed to be here between Noon and 4PM. The sooner they get here, the sooner they'll be gone.  11:45AM--I'm nervous about the upcoming exam. As if I didn't already have enough to worry about, right? I've got bills I think need to be paid; I wanna be alone when I do it, and unless Dianne goes upstairs to work, I won't be. 1:41PM--whoever's coming to examine me should be here shortly...how long will the exam take? I have no idea, but I hope to be trying for a nap before three o'clock. 2:56PM--the exam is over, the young woman just left...I guess I'm in worse shape than I thought. I MIGHT have a mini pizza for dinner. 3:35PM--or not...the last thing I wanna do is ask Dianne to help me cook anything ...so tonight I'll have the Fettucine Alfredo, THAT I know how ...

dumber as ya get older

        MONDAY 5/23/22 8:47AM-It took me awhile, but I (alone) checked my blood sugar. it was 116. I was ok once I found the instruction booklet. I made a really good looking omelet. Today is the last day it's safe to use the eggs.         Dianne is at her doctor's appointment, I think. I'm working on the dishes,  after which...well, I dunno what I'll be doing. IF I can find the energy, I'll go to Hank's--IF I get the chance to warm up, more than a little that is. 5:10PM--the strings on Butterscotch absolutely need to be changed...well, maybe next week I'll bring it to Hank's. I'm still planning on going, but I'm not taking anything but some guitar picks. SueEl still isn't going tonight as far as I know. There might be a Fender amp and Tele already there--I can use that stuff if I get the chance to play. 7:26PM-the amp is here, the Tele is not-as far as I can see. 7:42PM-I guess I’ll be a spectator…such is Life.
