be prepared

 

     TUESDAY 12/7/21 11:50AM--I need to be ready if the Bandits cancel the auditions (because they find somebody) or if MY audition goes poorly...I haven't been thinking about the Bandits nearly as much as I was...I guess I'm trying to balance my manic obseession and fantasies with realities...I know I wouldn't have wanted Brian or Richard to be at Dietle's last night...and I'm glad they weren't...
12:20PM--I think Alvijan is at least one step closer to giving Dianne the car...I'm happy of course, but scared too...
                 3:26PM--I knew this morning that the "good day" wouldn't last ALL day, but I hoped it would last until Sundown...as far as self-checkout goes I will try very VERY hard to NOT use it--ever again...at this point I'm almost too tired to even THINK about doing anything else today, except make my dinner...
                   9:39PM--dinner went well enough; need to put new strings on Butterscotch...kinda need to do laundry...the toes will have to wait...
11:40PM--the green pills haven't worked all that much lately, but I can feel them kicking in now...
WEDNESDAY 12/8/21 9:30AM--gonna finish breakfast then get started doing stuff...I'll start the laundry and put the strings on while its' going...or not--I think Dianne is coming back down to rest on the couch for awhile...so if it comes down to it I'll put the strings on  after my nap...I don't NEED one all that much, so I'll probably only sleep for about an hour or so...I MUST put the new strings on today...I plan to bring it to Hershey's tomorrow night and I wanna break 'em in first...should bring the amp too...I'll leave it in the car unless I really need it...
             10:55AM--well I made my bed (two years ago) so I gotta lie in it...Barry and the Combustibles have a gig coming up on the 18th in Virginia...I dunno my replacement (Tom Hester) but if the band plays a lot closer, maybe I would consider going to see them...seemingly Hester has a "soundlab" in his basement...It's possible that Barry cares as much about THAT as he does Hester's ability--I said possible...from the little that I've heard so far, he certainly knows how to twiddle the knobs...I'd say the only other thing he does better than me besides engineering, is songwriting...But the assessment of one's musical abilities are subjective... I didn't listen very long, just enough to get jealous...
          NOON--on the other hand, why waste new strings on an open mic that I don't like that much anymore anyway? so maybe I WILL work on my toes after the nap...the new plan is to put the strings on and get them broken in before possibly going to Dietle's next Monday...
12:18PM--maybe I can work on MY laundry while I'm working on my toes...
3:36PM--gotta TRY not to move from my chair for an hour...I'm soaking my feet...the water isn't hot anymore...
5:05PM--tried again, soaked and/or filed for about two hours...there's still aways to go, but they're noticeably better than they used to be...thank you Universe...
5:38PM--the grocery man came and went...now I've got more Klondike bars
7:09PM--I'm so conflicted; I dunno whether to bring my guitar or bass or neither...I'm leaning toward BASS, I think I'd be the only bass player, other than Jeff...won't know until tomorrow...
THURSDAY 12/9/21 9:06AM--it's finallly Thursday...it doesn't seem to be starting out all that well...Last night I fell down in front of Dianne for the first time...I somehow managed to sleep well anyway...
10AM--without any warning the cleaners showed up; I dunno if that's a good or bad thing...I think I'm meetig SueEl at 11:30...I hope to be back in bed by two o'clock...
10:12AM--I might not have to go to Litz to kill time after all...the cleaning woman just went upstairs...I put my clothes in the dryer; they should be dry by 11:00 or so...at which point I'll go get SueEl...
12:45PM--Lunch with SueEl was cancelled--after I arrived at her house...ABSOLUTELY no skin off MY nose...the cleaners are gone...I'm thnking naptime is at 1:30 or so...having a somewhat late Lunch...
12:52PM--still dunno what I 'm taking to Hershey's if anything...I'm leaning towards taking nothing...I've got time to decide...
1:08PM Just watched snippets of a Bandits video...Brian isn't the best singer...not the worst, but still, I expected better...on the other hand, the harmonica player CAN play--enough for me to worry...
4:44PM--Hershey's is a "no go" , neither of us are up to it...I'm relieved...
8:53PM--took the trash and recyle-ables out...
9:09PM--gonna take the green capsules at 9:30 or thereabouts...wanna be in bed before Midnight...
FRIDAY 12/10/21 9:40AM--I suddenly realized that I had become too regimented, too rigid--somewhat OCD-like...so now the goal is to keep it loose-as much as my environment allows...we'll see...
10:31AM--whatever stuff I have to do will likely wait until later, say, three o'clock or thereabouts...If I have one, I might eat a mini-pizza for Dinner...if I don't have one--who knows?

Musical homework

            THURSDAY 8/4/22 6:19PM-- started doing my band "homework"... Hoping to be ready by Sunday's practice. Made a legible copy (by hand and then laptop) of the songs and their corresponding NOTES. It didn't take too long, but I'm glad I'm finished. 10:22PM-just took the Trazodone...gonna give it until 11PM and then ready or not I'M going to bed. I don't know why, but I'm almost happy the cleaners won't be back for two weeks. This happens every time they come to clean. Tomorrow is Muzzy's play date. I should be back home by eight thirty, after I go to Safeway and get bologna.       FRIDAY 8/5/22 8:46AM--Dianne is going to the Germantown flea market by herself. She's OK with that. Tuesday's just as bad

            TUESDAY 5/17/22 11:16AM-- someone is coming here to give me some sort of check-up. I don't think they represent UHC, but I might be wrong about that. Whoever it is, they're supposed to be here between Noon and 4PM. The sooner they get here, the sooner they'll be gone.  11:45AM--I'm nervous about the upcoming exam. As if I didn't already have enough to worry about, right? I've got bills I think need to be paid; I wanna be alone when I do it, and unless Dianne goes upstairs to work, I won't be. 1:41PM--whoever's coming to examine me should be here shortly...how long will the exam take? I have no idea, but I hope to be trying for a nap before three o'clock. 2:56PM--the exam is over, the young woman just left...I guess I'm in worse shape than I thought. I MIGHT have a mini pizza for dinner. 3:35PM--or not...the last thing I wanna do is ask Dianne to help me cook anything ...so tonight I'll have the Fettucine Alfredo, THAT I know how ...

dumber as ya get older

        MONDAY 5/23/22 8:47AM-It took me awhile, but I (alone) checked my blood sugar. it was 116. I was ok once I found the instruction booklet. I made a really good looking omelet. Today is the last day it's safe to use the eggs.         Dianne is at her doctor's appointment, I think. I'm working on the dishes,  after which...well, I dunno what I'll be doing. IF I can find the energy, I'll go to Hank's--IF I get the chance to warm up, more than a little that is. 5:10PM--the strings on Butterscotch absolutely need to be changed...well, maybe next week I'll bring it to Hank's. I'm still planning on going, but I'm not taking anything but some guitar picks. SueEl still isn't going tonight as far as I know. There might be a Fender amp and Tele already there--I can use that stuff if I get the chance to play. 7:26PM-the amp is here, the Tele is not-as far as I can see. 7:42PM-I guess I’ll be a spectator…such is Life.
